GENERAL LABOUR | CARPENTRY

About the Role

Krawford Construction Company Inc. is looking to hire full-time labor for the construction of the new

Whitefish Lake First Nation Child Family Services building. Hours of work are 7am to 430pm Monday

through Thursday and 7am to 330pm on Friday to achieve a 44hr work week.



The Individual should possess:

  • Minimum of 1 year of construction experience

  • Experience with using power tools

  • Experience with operating skid steers or similar heavy equipment

  • Valid driver’s license

  • CSTS and WHMIS training (Krawford can provide if needed)

  • Steel Toed Boots (Hard Hat, Vest & Safety Glasses will be provided by Krawford)


Summary of Duties – General Labor:

  • General worksite setup, cleaning & maintenance

  • Setup & maintenance of temporary power & heating equipment

  • Installation of tarps, temporary closures & hoardings as necessary

  • Material handling and organizing

  • Basic earthworks (excavation, backfilling, placing & spreading of fill materials)

  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades required

  • Assist tradespersons such as carpenters, bricklayers, cement finishers, roofers and glaziers in construction activities

  • Snow clearing, site pumping / dewatering, etc. as required to maintain a safe jobsite

  • Operate skid steel to clear snow, maintain site access & organize lay down areas

  • Operate skid steel to unload and load materials and deliver throughout the site

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned


Summary of Duties – Carpentry:

  • Items noted above in General Labor as well as…

  • Assist with basic survey, layout & measurements throughout the project

  • Assist with foundation (piling & concrete grade beam) installation.

  • Assist with concrete formwork, placing & finishing

  • Drilling, installing and grouting various concrete anchors

  • Installation of plywood & lumber (backing) in walls and ceilings

  • Installation of door frames, doors, and door hardware

  • Installation of washroom accessories

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned


OTHER SKILLED TRADES

In addition to General Labor and Carpentry duties for Krawford Construction, there will be various

other trade contractors intermittently involved throughout the project for days or weeks at a time.

Employment with these trades may or may not be full-time and will be discussed on a case-by-case

scenario.

  • Millwork & Cabinetry Installation

  • Steel Stud Framing, Drywall, Taping and Acoustic Ceilings

  • Painting

  • Flooring

  • Plumbing

  • Heating & Ventilation

  • Electrical

  • General worksite setup, cleaning & maintenance

  • Setup & maintenance of temporary power & heating equipment

  • Installation of tarps, temporary closures & hoardings as necessary
