Iyinisowin ᐃᔨᓂᓱᐃᐧᐣ “Wisdom” Program Team Lead
Atikameg Child & Family Services Society is a Delegated First Nation Child & Family Organization that was created to promote a healthy and self-sustaining community, utilize a holistic (body, mind, and spirit) approach in meeting the needs of the children, youth, and families from Whitefish Lake First Nation. The Atikameg Child & Family Services Society’s main office is in Atikameg, Alberta with a sub-office located in Edmonton, Alberta.
Reporting to the CFS Manager of Atikameg Child and Family Services provide support, coaching, mentoring and direction to the team of Child and Family Service professionals working in the Iyinisowin ᐃᔨᓂᓱᐃᐧᐣ “Wisdom” Program using the Child Intervention Practice Framework, Casework Practice Model and Signs of Safety Approach to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with accepted practices, standards and legislative requirements and a focus on accepted community practices and beliefs.
Requirements
Duties:•
Provides leadership and supervision in a number of areas which include quality assessment, referrals, case planning, and community liaison for young adults and their families;
Direct, supervise, and review the activities and work of a group of caseworkers;
Setting both individual goals and unit goals, maintaining a strong effective team that embraces change and providing ongoing case consultation and supervision with staff;
Prioritize multiple projects and assignments that support better decisions for young adults;
Analyzes client requirements, evaluates diagnoses, interventions, resources arranged, reviews service objectives, assess client progress, and recommends new actions; and
Provide monthly reports to share the Iyinisowin ᐃᔨᓂᓱᐃᐧᐣ “Wisdom” Program activities.
The Iyinisowin ᐃᔨᓂᓱᐃᐧᐣ “Wisdom” Program Team Lead is a key team member and may be asked to carry out additional duties and activities related to the effectiveness and successful implementation of the Child & Family Services Program.
Qualifications:
Master of Social Work and 1-year related experience or related university degree and at least 4 years of related experience; or related diploma and at least 5 years of related experience;
Experience using trauma informed care and harm reduction practices;
Availability to provide services to young adults on weekdays, evenings, and weekends to accommodate the needs of clients; and
An understanding of the dynamics and demographics of First Nation communities.
Additional Requirements:
Current and valid Alberta driver’s license;
Child & Youth Information Module (CYIM) and Canadian Police Information Center (CPIC) clearances;
Ability to speak and/or understand the Cree language a strong asset.
Work Location:
• Hybrid (Atikameg, Alberta and Edmonton, Alberta)

To be based on Qualifications and Experience.
